**Job Summary**:
As a Loss Prevention Officer, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our company's assets, preventing theft, and maintaining a safe environment. You’ll work closely with store personnel, managers, and security teams to identify potential threats, monitor for suspicious activities, and respond to incidents. Your expertise will contribute directly to the success and safety of our store operations.

**Key responsibilities**:

- **Monitor and Protect**: Conduct routine surveillance and monitor CCTV to prevent theft, fraud, and suspicious activities within the store premises.
- **Loss Prevention Strategies**: Assist in implementing and improving loss prevention strategies to minimize company losses.
- **Incident Response**: Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, following company protocols to ensure the safety of staff and customers.
- **Reporting**: Document incidents and complete reports for any irregularities, accidents, or thefts, providing detailed descriptions for management review.
- **Customer Service**: Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor while interacting with customers and staff, balancing security with excellent service.
- **Investigations**: Participate in investigations related to theft, fraud, and other security matters, working with management and law enforcement as needed.
- **Safety Checks**: Conduct regular safety inspections of the store, ensuring that all areas are secure and free of potential hazards.

**Qualifications**:

- **Experience**: Prior experience in loss prevention, security, or a related field is preferred.
- **Skills**: Strong observation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.
- **Communication**: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work well in a team environment.
- **Integrity**: High standard of honesty, integrity, and professionalism.
- **Certifications**: Security certifications or training in loss prevention are a plus.
- Provide security protection to the clients as required, ensuring their safety and security in all environments.
- Loyalty and Trustworthiness: you must build strong relationships of trust with our clients, often becoming integral members of their personal or professional lives. Loyalty and discretion are essential traits in maintaining these relationships.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities and develop appropriate security measures to mitigate risks
- Manage the client's transportation logistics, including route planning, vehicle security, and coordination with drivers to ensure safe and efficient travel
- Be prepared to respond swiftly and effectively to emergency situations, including medical emergencies, security breaches, or other threats to the client's safety
- Always maintain the highest level of professionalism and discretion, respecting the client's privacy and confidentiality
- Prevent shoplifter theft by establishing a strong security presence.
- Provide excellent customer service to our clients, customers and patrons
- Arrest and/ or detain shoplifters.
- Escort trespassers away from client premises
- Perform safety and security duties with the highest standards of professionalism and integrity
- Complete incident reports for security purposes
- Respond to emergencies and escalate to law enforcement agencies as required
- Quickly respond to security and safety violations, property damage and alarms.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a AST guard.
- Hold valid certifications in close protection/security
- Excellent physical condition with the ability to meet the demands of the role
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members, and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to think quickly and make sound decisions under pressure, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
- Awareness and understanding of cultural differences and customs, with the ability to adapt to diverse environments and situations
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as occasional travel both domestically and internationally
- Excellent knowledge of Lower Mainland Area of BC
