35 hours per week
Monday to Friday, 8:30AM-4:30PM

**About the job**

Reporting to the Resource Program Supervisor, the Resource Consultant provides inclusion support for children (ages 0-12) who attend licensed Child Care programs, EarlyON and Family Centers, authorized camps, recreation, and skill-building programs. The incumbent will also spend time focusing on initiatives outlined within the Bruce County Service System Plan to enhance community awareness of programs and resources.

The contract role is expected to go until December 2023.

**Requirements**:

- Two-year post-secondary diploma in Early Childhood Education.
- Resource Teacher Certificate (requiring one additional year of education).
- Registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE).
- Two years of experience in a child care setting.
- Excellent knowledge of the various Children’s Services programs including Ministry of Education guidelines and documents and the Child Care and Early Years Act.
- Experience working with families and community agencies.
- Ability to maintain positive professional boundaries without imposing personal judgments and expectations on families and clients
- Ability to work with sensitivity towards the diverse perspectives of individual clients and community service providers, while meeting the objectives and targets of the department
- Ability to interact and build relationships with children that are either physically or intellectually challenged
- Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop relationships, listen to the needs of various audiences. and creatively meet those needs through negotiation, mediation and collaboration.
- Proficient with computer software.
- Ability to organize and manage priorities.
- Valid driver’s license, willingness to travel and access to a vehicle.
- Clean Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check
- Valid Standard First Aid
