Working closely with and reporting to the VP, Marketing and External Relations, the Specialist will take a lead role in our events strategy and in stewarding strong relationships across our internal and external stakeholders and community partners; creating and executing events that generate revenue and engage our community.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Events**
- Working closely with the VP, lead the development of the annual AC events strategy and own the events-based revenue target; brainstorming and implementing new event concepts that add value to the AC community in alignment with the strategic plan and an eye towards revenue generation and community engagement
- Serve as the lead for event planning and execution across all AC programs and business units
- Manage all event logistics, including obtaining vendor quotes, coordinating with speakers, booking equipment or rentals, ordering catering, and arranging for giveaways/promotional material where required
- Write event descriptions and work with the Marketing Specialist to create digital registration landing pages with Eventbrite
- Assist with the preparation and monitoring of event budgets, timelines, and calendars
- Prepare and send follow-up surveys to event participants to assess event quality and impact
- Serve as the main community contact and tour guide for tours of the AC facilities as required
- Attend all AC hosted virtual, in-person, and hybrid events to manage logistics and assess event quality
- Report back to the VP regularly on AC event impact

**Community Engagement**
- Support the AC’s EDI Action Plan by working with the VP to identify and engage with founders from underserved communities to increase awareness of the AC brand
- Regularly attend community events to represent the AC brand and look for new partnership opportunities; reporting back to AC management on ecosystem activity and trends
- Communicate regularly with AC staff and mentors regarding new partnerships and facilitate connections between partners, staff, mentors and AC clients
- As the primary contact and relationship manager for corporate sponsors and community partners across the organization; ensuring partners are engaged in the AC community and getting value out of their partnership with the AC
- Ensure sponsorship deliverables are met and work cross functionally to optimize the experience and ROI of our founders
- Meet regularly with corporate and community partners; working collaboratively with the Corporates Sales Manager as required
- Assist in the development of sponsorship offerings that relate to AC events
- Implementation of regular sponsor communications including a satisfaction surveys, sponsor appreciation or acknowledgement events
- Ensure that all partner data is accurately maintained in HubSpot and Incubator Pro and that relevant reports/dashboards are created in order to measure impact and sponsor tracking to ensure commitments are fulfilled and proactively ensure renewals
- Assist the VP in creating of MOUs, partnership reports, and proposals for community partners as required

**DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada
- 2+ years experience working in events and/or community management role, or a combination of relevant education, experience, and aptitude
- Strong communicator with clear verbal and written communication, strong interpersonal, and presentation skills
- Client experience focused, with a proven track record of maintaining long-term relationships with clients and partners
- Excellent organizational, trouble-shooting and interpersonal skills
- A self-starter that can work under mínimal supervision and can juggle multiple projects and priorities

- Experience delivering value for sponsorships and partners with-in a foundation or non-profit environment
- Cross-cultural acumen, enabling us to build strong relationships with stakeholders around the world
