About the role

Join the Creative Services & Brand Management team in the UX Specialist position. In this role, you will be a crucial member of our team, responsible for enhancing user experiences across our digital platforms. Your expertise in user experience (UX) research and design will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our digital offerings meet the needs and expectations of our diverse user base. If you have experience in customer experience (CX) design as well, it will be considered an asset. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will actively contribute to shaping the future of our digital solutions, making a difference in the lives of Canadians.

**This is a temporary position for a duration of 24 months.**

**What you’ll do**:

- Conduct comprehensive user research, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gain deep insights into user behaviours, pain points, journeys/flows and preferences within the housing industry.
- Translate user insights into actionable recommendations and collaborate with product managers, designers, and developers to implement UX improvements across our digital products and services.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and mock-ups to visualize and communicate design ideas, aligning them with user needs and CMHC's strategic objectives.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to user experience, providing valuable insights for continuous improvement and increased customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UX design, advocating for innovation within the team.
- Collaborate with content creators to ensure the integration of UX principles into all written and visual content, enhancing the overall user experience.

**What you should have**:

- A minimum of 5 years of experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful projects and outcomes.
- Experience in customer experience (CX) design will be considered an asset.
- Proficiency in UX design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or similar software.
- Solid understanding of user-centred design principles, information architecture, and interaction design. Knowledge of front-end development and web technologies is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to derive actionable insights from user data and research.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
