**The opportunity**:
**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:

- Bachelors of Commerce or related degree preferably with a Human Resources major/specialty or a certificate in Human Resource Management required.
- Additional education specializing in compensation and/or benefits preferred.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Compensation Management Specialist (CMS) preferred.
- Minimum five years of directly related experience as a HR professional with a focus on compensation or related role in a large, dynamic organization is required.
- Experience in the areas of compensation, Hay Point evaluation, class specifications, classification and performance management at a practitioner level, and experience providing leadership in these key areas required.
- An in-depth level of knowledge of UM human resource management business policies, procedures, rules and collective agreements is essential.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Diplomatic yet assertive approach in dealing with all levels of staff is required.
- Attention to detail, strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
- Good decision-making skills required.
- Must possess a philosophy consistent with a collaborative, integrated approach to working in groups and integrated systems.
- Must be a self-starter and a team player.
- The ability to train staff and clients, provide feedback to staff, peers and clients so as to lead to better improved use of business rules and systems required.
- Ability to work under high pressure and constant deadlines, while dealing with competing demands required.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required**.**
