Does the opportunity to work closely with all forms of library collections fit with your career objectives? In this role, you will support the public, and collaborate with colleagues to communicate collections and e-resource information and resolve issues related to e-resource access and management. The Collections and e-Content Librarian will play a key role in supporting the development of innovative and inclusive collections at Oakville Public Library.

**As a Collections and e-Content Librarian you will**:

- Develop, plan and provide access to innovative and inclusive collections in all formats to meet the needs and interests of the Oakville community
- Analyze and evaluate digital and physical collections using a variety of quantitative and qualitative measures
- Oversee quarterly and ad hoc collection usage and analysis reports, in collaboration with Collection Development leadership
- Monitor assigned collections budgets in the areas of digital resources and our growing Library of Things (i.e. sports equipment, loanable technology), with the responsibility to analyze, develop, and maintain said collection areas
- Monitor digital collections contracts to ensure that renewals and licenses are processed promptly and appropriately
- Act as liaison with information systems staff and vendors to resolve digital access issues
- Act as liaison with Marketing to ensure the promotion of library collections and resources to staff and the public
- Collaborate, coach, train and support a system-wide team to confidently and consistently provide knowledgeable technical and troubleshooting support to staff and customers
- Identify training needs and creates and delivers designated training modules to staff using virtual and in-person strategies
- Recommend future direction of collection areas to support organizational goals
- Develop, lead and coordinate system-wide committees/teams and participate in external committees and teams as required
- Develop new skills and participate in professional development opportunities
- Provide great customer service to all customers, conduct in-depth reference and reader’s advisory services and act as the in-charge during designated shifts

**Your experience and educational background**:

- Masters in Library and Information Science (MLIS)
- Minimum two (2) years public library experience
- Extensive knowledge of library resources in digital and physical formats
- Proficiency with new and emergent technologies with a focus on those that could be offered in a public library/loanable setting
- Experience in collection development, maintenance: assessing collection needs, evaluating resources, determining appropriate format for specific resources, managing budgets
- Experience with integrated library systems, all modules
- Knowledge of acquisitions processes and cataloguing standards (e.g. Dewey Decimal System, AACR2, RDA) would be an asset
