To function as the Facility Maintenance Manager of Rosedale Golf Club administering the facilities operations of the Club House and Pro Shop including, but not limited to the physical plant, Club House interior and exterior, and all storage areas of the Club House and Pro Shop. You will sit on the Health and Safety Committee and you must have your level 1 and 2 Certification. You will be responsible for all health and safety compliance requirements. Accountabilities include all maintenance and housekeeping staff, maintenance programs, Club security systems, and building automated systems. Appropriately manage the people and resources of these operations, including the trades on site.
**General**:
As a member of the Management Team you are to provide for clean, safe and superior operations in all areas of the Club. Work with the Club House Manager to ensure fair personnel practices, wage recommendations for hourly staff, constant and innovative training of staff and maintain excellent morale. Ensure that proper scheduling is the norm and that overtime is kept to a minimum. Conduct weekly meetings with staff to review the work ahead and continually brainstorm with all staff to improve operations and the facility. Continuous fine-tuning and innovation must transgress all levels of staff. Ensure a safe, healthy workplace for staff and the maintenance of a tidy, hazard free property for the enjoyment of Club members and their guests.
**Operations**:
Provide leadership, direction, innovation, motivation, imagination, and versatility to Club operations, including setting objectives, formulating procedures and resolving problems. Foster the development, implementation and assessment of new Club programs relating to maintenance. Establish written standards and manage the process of continual improvements in the set-up of events, service to our members, facilities, sanitation and Club atmosphere
**Job Specifications and Qualifications Required**:
- The Maintenance Manager is required to maintain a high profile with both the staff and members.
- One is expected to maintain a professional image in and around the Club at all times.
- Large portions of the Maintenance Manager’s responsibility are in the area of members service. One must be available to deal with member inquiries or problems.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and building inspections to maintain standards and expectations.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements for third party suppliers or service providers.
- Ensure building facilities are compliant with health and safety regulations including local fire codes, accessibility and other relevant building and maintenance legislation.
- Communicate and promote health and safety policies within the department, in accordance with all federal, provincial and municipal health and safety requirements.
- Assess operational issues relating to building operations and maintenance personnel.
- Carry out feasibility studies for service improvement, customizing, re-modeling and new service development.
- Demonstrate knowledge of, and promote, industry standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and code of ethics.
