Reporting to a Program Manager, the Food Services Coordinator oversees the production of nutritious meals and snacks for all programs of the organization and coordinates the purchasing and distribution of all food products. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

- Responsible for the daily production and distribution of meals, snacks and centralized food inventory for the organization.
- Creates healthy and tasty rotating menus that reflect the dietary and cultural preferences of Reconnect’s client base.
- Operates and oversees the operation of the food service equipment ensuring proper procedures are maintained
- Works closely with departments and manager to ensure food service needs are met and concerns or complaints regarding food quality or service are addressed.
- Responsible for bulk purchasing, inventory control and management for all organization food supplies and equipment
- Culinary Management Diploma; 2-year program
- Current Food Handlers Certificate
- Minimum 2 years experience working in an industrial kitchen
- Experience preparing food for different diet types i.e. diabetic, minced, pureed, low sodium, etc.

**Key skills and abilities we are looking for**:

- Experience working in a centralized food purchasing and distribution system
- Proven ability to prepare food from recipes for large numbers
- Strong organization skills and the ability to multi-task
- Excellent time management skills, attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and on a team
- Good leadership/mentoring skills
- Experience in working with ethnically diverse groups
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

**Special Requirements**:

- Criminal background check;
- Must be willing to work flexible hours including, evenings and weekends as required.
