**LOOKING FOR TEACHERS TO HELP COACH OUR MARCH BREAK SPORTS CAMP**

Under the leadership of the Camp Director, Assistant Camp Director and Lead Programmer assist with the supervision and facilitation of the day to day sports/activities of the children.

**About Markham Sports Dome Summer Camp**

Markham Sports Dome March Break Camp offers sports programming for boys and girls ages 4-13. At Markham Sports Dome we believe that sports are an important part of every child's development. We provide the highest quality of sports instruction with a safe and fun focus as the main priority.

**Sports Camp Details**

The sports camp is a sports camp for boys and girls ages 4-13. It will be taking place at Markham Sports Dome (5300 14th Ave, Markham). The camp will run from March 13th, 2023 - March 17th, 2023, between the hours of 8:00AM - 6:00PM, Monday - Friday.

**Responsibilities**
- Lead sport camp activities and follow the program outline.
- Develop and run programming for camper groups.
- Set a positive example for other staff and campers.
- Create a safe and structured environment for children to learn and to explore throughout the day;
- Assist children in developing skill in sports activities.
- Work effectively within an integrated setting by meeting the needs of all campers;
- Deal effectively with Camp Director, peers, participants and the public;
- Accompany children to various outings in the community & ensure that they are safe and accounted for at all times;
- Show children how to respect themselves, their peers and others in the community;
- Carry out all duties that provide quality customer service.
- Other duties as assigned by the Camp Director

**Requirements**:

- legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred), a full-time student during the previous academic year and intending to return to school full-time in the following academic year.
- CPR Certificate and First Aid Certificate preferred
- Provide a satisfactory Criminal Reference check and Vulnerable Sector Screening upon hire.
- Must be able to work all 5 days (March 13-17)
- Previous experience working with children and youth in sport, recreational or community setting is an asset
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, organizational & time management skills

**Required education**
- High school or equivalent
- Enrollment in, and or completion of related post-secondary study (physical education, concurrent education, child and youth, recreation and leisure studies, kinesiology, applied health sciences, etc...).
