Extend Communications is currently hiring a Human Resources Generalist (up to 12 month) Contract position. This position will be a hybrid role with the Corporate Office located in Brantford, Ontario.

**Position Title**: Human Resources Generalist

**Reporting to**: Chief Financial Officer

**Pay Type**: Salaried

Job Overview

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the HR function including activities related to recruitment and workforce planning, talent management, human resources information management, employee engagement and wellbeing, health and safety, strategic process planning and benefit administration. The Human Resources Generalist will execute HR initiatives and practices that contribute to an employee-orientated culture.

Job Responsibilities
- Participate in daily employee relations and human resources administration including maintaining employee files, generating reports, creating employment letters, managing employee updates and reminders etc.
- Maintain job descriptions, employee policies, procedures, and work instructions
- Assist managers with Performance Improvement Plans and evaluations
- Design and implement organizational tools and programs to support employee engagement, change management and team effectiveness
- Collaboratively aid in the development of processes and procedures for all departments within the organization
- Maintain compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law
- Promote an atmosphere of continuous learning; gather feedback from individuals and teams to improve work processes and work/life balance
- Develop and implement measures to increase employee morale, motivation, and satisfaction, while reducing turnover
- Manage the employee survey process, assess trends, gaps, and outcomes, and collaborate with managers to create an action plan
- Provide coaching to manage employee performance and employee relations
- Partner with Managers to investigate and address employee issues while ensuring consistency in progressive discipline and investigations
- Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, exit interviews, and investigations
- Oversee the administration of the payroll process, review payroll details on a biweekly basis and providing back-up when needed
- Manage the full cycle recruitment process
- Support leaders in the development of job descriptions for new and existing positions and create effective job postings
- Develop and implement recruitment plans related to talent acquisition, succession planning, employee relations, and retention initiatives
- Evaluate existing training programs and other key training initiatives and provide suggestions
- Create and evaluate new and existing training manuals for all positions within the organization
- Assist in identifying, organizing, and facilitating professional development opportunities for all employees
- Manage the occupational (WSIB) and non-occupational injuries and the return-to-work process
- Manage the company benefit and RRSP plans; evaluate and recommend areas to support/enhance the employee experience
- Be familiar with and adhere to the Occupational Health & Safety Act, ensuring compliance
- Attend Health and Safety meetings regularly and update records, policies, and procedures
- Create a safe and healthy work environment that fosters a positive team culture
- Ensure consistently high levels of Management/Employee communications throughout our in-house and remote team
- Perform other duties as assigned
