JM Controls and Electric is currently looking for an accounting assistant to join our team on a full -time basis.
- 2-4 year College or university degree in Accounting. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience can be substituted.
- 1-3 years of relevant, hands-on accounting experience
- Proficient to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel
- Proficient in Sage 50, and QuickBooks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently on assigned duties and as part of a team
- Demonstrates an ability to manage a variety of priorities while meeting deadlines

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Assist with preparation of financial and statistical statements and reports
- Assist with clerical and administrative work
- Support duties related to accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Analyze financial information in order to identify discrepancies
- Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely fashion
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial data
- Compile and prepare routine reports and summaries
- Assist the controller with year-end procedures
- Any other tasks as required
