**_ Role summary_**

Reporting to the Internal Communications Manager, the Communications Coordinator is responsible for developing and delivering both print and electronic content for strategic and operational internal corporate communications for BC Emergency Health Services. Participates in project teams and working groups to provide expertise and support in creating and managing content. Works as part of the Communications team to ensure that defined standards and editorial processes are understood and used consistently to promote a positive image for the organization. Produces/edits various internal/external communications materials against supplied editorial standards, supports development of information for newsletters, presentations, bulletins, memos, briefing notes and news releases, as well as the intranet in compliance with supplied information architecture standards and performs day-today maintenance and update requests for communications collateral.

**_ Key accountabilities_**
- Produces and edits diverse communications materials, for both internal and external use, in collaboration with other members of the communications team and in keeping with corporate editorial standards.
- Supports the Communications team with execution of strategic communications plans for the organizations’ programs and corporate functions.
- Participates on committees and in interdepartmental meetings to provide support and information on strategic communications planning or implementation.
- Seeks out opportunities to promote good news and help maintain organizational reputation online by creating and/or repurposing content for web sites and social media networks.
- Serves as an admin for the internal Facebook Operations group, monitoring group posts to ensure they meet the groups guidelines and escalates questions on the group as needed.
- Provides support for the maintenance and organization of various electronic information tools such as social media, electronic newsletters and updating the intranet.
- Assists with the development and distribution of news releases and other press materials to ensure timely and appropriate exposure of research activities and events.
- Identifies opportunities for economies of scale, standardization efficiencies and effectiveness.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**_ Qualifications_**- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field such as communications or journalism plus one (1) to three (3) years’ experience in organizational communications, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Exceptional writing and communication skills are essential. Expertise in information architecture, content management and graphic design would be an asset.

- Advanced computer skills in organizational electronic communication technology, publishing and web-based communications.
- Knowledge of technical issues relating to printing and production of materials.
- Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive issues with skill, tact and diplomacy and to act with a high degree of ethical and professional behaviour.
- Good organizational, project management and time management skills including the ability to work to deadlines.
- A results-oriented and enthusiastic team player who thrives on new challenges.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
