**Position**:Head Chef

**Location**: 7 West Street, Georgetown, PE

**Reports to**: Owner/Operations manager

**Working Hours**:Working hours may vary. Hours will include evenings and weekends.

**SETTING**

The Wheelhouse in Georgetown is a well-established business organization which operates a top-quality Restaurant and Inn within the food and hospitality industry in Prince Edward Island.

The Head Chef will oversee all kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, staff management, and maintaining high food quality and safety standards. This individual will be a creative, passionate leader who ensures the kitchen runs smoothly while delivering exceptional culinary experiences to its guests.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Design, plan, and execute innovative and seasonal menus that align with the brand vision.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
- Hire, train, mentor, and manage kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
- Create and maintain a positive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional growth.
- Schedule and delegate tasks to staff, ensuring efficient kitchen operations.
- Oversee inventory management, ordering, and cost control to maintain profitability.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards, including maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
- Develop and manage kitchen budgets, including food cost percentages and labor costs.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and address customer feedback.
- Participate in special events, tastings, or promotional activities as needed.

**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**
- Proven experience in a leadership role in a similar establishment.
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage stress and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

**COMPENSATION**

**Pay Range**: Starting at **$22-$32/hour**, depending on experience and qualifications. Opportunities for performance-based bonuses.
