Huronia Historical Parks, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Gaming is seeking highly motivated individuals with strong leadership, front-line operational delivery, and strategic planning capacity to express their interest for the roles of Program Supervisor for Sainte-Marie among the Hurons Operations and/or Discovery Harbour Operations.

A Program Supervisor at Huronia Historical Parks plays a crucial role in overseeing staff, including on-call and contract workers, at each site who are responsible for the design and execution of all visitor facing programs and events, including educational and specialized programs, contractor delivered programs and managing multiple special events annually. The supervisor manages up to 40 staff members per site, depending on seasonal needs. The mission of Huronia Historical Parks is to act as stewards of heritage, managing significant assets, and delivering on Ministry business objectives. The facilities are made up of visitor focused organizations with education-based programming, special events, restaurants, and managing rental spaces among many other heritage assets. Essential skills for this role include strong business acumen, leadership, community partnership development, HR and performance management, and recruitment.

**Please note**:
This dynamic frontline role thrives on your physical presence at the sites. The Program Supervisors for both operations are expected to be on-site five days a week. The sites are open seven days per week during peak season and sporadically throughout the off season. The role also requires weekend, evening, and night work based on operational needs. There is also travel to various sub sites in the area.

**About Huronia Historical Parks**:
The ministry operates and maintains two cultural tourism attractions. Sainte-Marie among the Hurons in Midland (1639-1649) is a reconstruction of the 17th century headquarters of the French Jesuit mission to the Huron people. It was the first European community in Ontario and home to six of the eight North American Jesuit martyrs. Discovery Harbour in Penetanguishene represents the period from 1817 to 1856 when the Royal Navy and the British Army maintained a naval dockyard and military garrison at this strategic defence station on Georgian Bay. Discovery Harbour is the home of replica tall ships and the King's Wharf Theatre offers professional summer theatre. HHP offers a full range of public programming including education programs, travel trade programs, special events and third-party rentals.
