Wholesale Specialist

- **Duties & Responsibilities**_
- Perform purchasing and sales functions as part of the Wholesale Team.
- Purchase goods that are aligned with the needs and objectives of the organization incl. type, quantity, quality, and cost.
- Negotiate transportation arrangements, prices, discounts, and credit terms.
- Coordinate the shipment and receipt of goods from suppliers to the organization’s facilities.
- Maintain required stock levels consistent to organizational guidelines taking into consideration lead times and the broader supply chain environment.
- Establish/maintain strong relationships with key supplier contacts.
- Identify potential customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, and attending trade shows and conferences.
- Contact new/existing B2B customers to understand their needs and discuss how the organization can help them achieve their business goals.
- Become recognized as a strategic business contact for our customers by advising them on products that best meet their needs, educating them on the potential uses of such products, as well as becoming a strategic source of market insights.
- Provide best-in-class customer service by sharing pricing and availability information on a timely basis and following up with them to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Negotiate pricing and terms, prepare sales contracts (if required), and submit orders for processing/fulfillment in accordance with established procedures.
- Collaborate with colleagues and industry peers to exchange information, such as selling strategies, market trends, market pricing, and the competitive landscape.
- Maintain records of all transactions and submit to the Accounting Team for auditing purposes.
- Provide other operational support as required (or as assigned) from time to time.
- **Skills & Requirements**_
- Diploma in business, supply chain management, or related field of study is preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the food and beverage industry (food distribution industry is preferred).
- Good command of MS Office; experience in inventory management software is a plus;
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Detailed oriented, has a strong sense of priority along with the ability to work independently and as a part of a team;
- Self starter, proactive and fast learner;
- Ability to speak both English and Cantonese/Mandarin is an asset.
