**FINANCIAL ANALYST**

**Key functions of the role**:

- Prepare and manage the budgeting process for the FortisOntario group of companies.
- Prepare variance analysis, quality/completeness testing of budget inputs.
- Coordinate and facilitate the Executive Budget Presentations.
- Prepare monthly managers’ report and assess the reasonableness of the variance analysis.
- Prepare pension filings to Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario.
- Preparing/provide support in the preparation of various journal entries as part of month-end close process.
- Internal and external reporting and data analysis.
- Quarterly preparation of audit binder sections.
- Aid the department in streamlining document file management including the compilation and storage of business processes for various functions within the department.
- Special projects and departmental support as required.
- Post secondary education in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting and/or Finance
- Chartered Professional Accountant (“CPA”) designation or actively enrolled in the CPA program.
- Minimum of 3 years related work experience in corporate accounting environment.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards (GAAP/ASPE and USGAAP).
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suite (including Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel) and Adobe.
- Working Knowledge of SAP or other ERP system would be an asset.
- Knowledge of OEB Regulatory Requirements and Framework would be an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Excellent team player with the ability to work well independently.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
