**THIS IS A TEMPORARY REPLACEMENT POSITION FOR A BARGAINING UNIT EMPLOYEE.** Terms and conditions of employment are as outlined in the Support Staff Collective Agreement.
THIS POSITION WILL WORK FLEXIBLE AND NON-TRADITIONAL HOURS (Testing Services hours are 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.)
Hours could vary within that timeframe throughout the semester as the testing schedule is determined on a weekly basis. Position hours will typically be 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., however will change based on testing schedule when needed.
Located in Barrie and reporting to the Operations Manager, Student and Learning Services, the incumbent is responsible for booking and proctoring on-site and online tests and coordinates test/exam schedules, room assignments, scores, and prepares adaptive technologies following testing protocols and procedures at the Barrie Campus.
**Specific duties include, but are not limited to**:
- Booking tests, scheduling students, proctoring, responding to inquiries regarding on-site and online tests/testing procedures, and assisting students with disabilities
- Receiving test materials from faculty and returning completed tests to faculty
- Ensuring students with disabilities are appropriately accommodated for their individual testing needs
- Converting tests to alternate formats, co-ordinating testing schedules / room / testing space assignments
- Ensuring the testing area is conducive to a quiet testing environment
- Ensuring appropriate testing accommodations and requirements related to academic integrity are met within the testing environment, and following policies and procedures for academic misconduct
- Closing testing services and prepare testing services for the following morning
- Scoring admissions and placement tests and entering marks into Banner
- Marking and reporting test results as required (i.e. Challenge exams)
- Providing input in the development of testing services policies and procedures
- Assisting with the training of new staff on testing procedures, software implementation, accommodated and non-accommodated testing
- Learning and familiarizing with new technologies brought into Testing Services
- Utilizing the website and database to gather information for spreadsheets and/or reports as requested
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Successfully completed a one-year postsecondary certificate in a relevant field of study that may include, but is not limited to business or human services
- Two years’ experience in a student services environment (preferably within an educational institution)
- Knowledge of adaptive technologies (e.g. Read and Write Gold, Dragon, etc.) with the ability to quickly learn the software and have the ability to troubleshoot and prepare the software for daily use in the testing centre
- Computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, etc.) to answer inquiries and schedule appointments
- An understanding of disabilities, student stressors and mental health concerns, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills with a student-centered approach
- Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-focused approach
- Organizational and time management skills to ensure the daily schedule accommodates the needs of each student
- Self-directed with the ability to take initiative, work independently as well as within a team environment
- Ability to maintain confidentiality to work with student information
- Ability to work non-traditional hours as necessary (evenings and weekends)
- Experience in a testing environment is an asset
- Experience using Banner and scheduling software are considered asset
- Experience working in a postsecondary setting with a strong understanding of student development in a college would be an asset
