Primary Duties
1. General Operational Duties

? Installs Fibre Optic Network components at customer premises
? Orders equipment/supplies
? Performs maintenance of telecommunications facilities
? Supports other members of the telcommunications team
? Coordination of activities, i.e. crews, customers, contractors
? Supervises contractor work
? Supports Troubleshooting

2. Administrative Duties

? Customer relationship management
? Facilities inspection/maintenance logbooks/checklists

3. Occupational Health and Safety

? Understands and works within the confines of all applicable rules and regulations
? Identifies hazards and/or participates in/or document tailboard conferences
? Reports health and safety hazards with an unacceptable level of risk and offers potential solutions to supervisors

4. Other Duties

? Perform any additional duties that may be assigned by the employer
Education, Certification and Other Qualifications Required
1. Education

? 2 year College Diploma in Electronics/Technology Training

2. Licenses, Trades, Certificates, Professional Designation

? Valid Class ‘G’ driver’s license for Ontario
? Utility Work Protection Code (WPC)
? Radial Boom Derrick (RBD) Certification
? First Aid/CPR certification

3. Experience

? 4-5 years on the job experience
? Experience with fall protection equipment
? Knowledge of health and safety rules and the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act

4. Abilities

? Effective team player
? Proven ability to be organized, resourceful and self-motivated
? Proficient verbal and written communication skills
? Familiarity with the Corporation’s safety rules as well as the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Industry Specific Regulations
? Capable of using the Microsoft office suite of products
? Reliable
