Winnipeg, Canada Forensic Psychological Services Full time

This position involves providing practical life skill training, mentoring, support, crisis intervention and risk management services to clients in treatment at our practice. Clients include adults and youth, males and females, and special need populations, all of which have been in conflict with the law or are at risk of being in conflict with the law.Each shift includes supporting a variety of clients who may be living in separate homes or apartments, with tasks and programming within their residence and in the community.

**IT IS AN ASSET IF YOU HAVE**:

- Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- A driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Familiarity with Indigenous culture and traditional lifestyles.

**THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL**:

- Establish meaningful working relationships with residents and acting as a mentor and role model.
- Lead and assist residents, with daily routines and life skills (e.g., self-care and hygiene, time management, cleaning and organizing in the home, shopping, cooking, budgeting).
- Plan and implement recreational programming.
- Build cohesion among residents in each home and across homes.
- Be aware of, monitor and respond to the vulnerabilities and risk factors of residents, while reinforcing risk management plans and strategies.
- Attend to crises.
- Record and share information related to client functioning and house issues.
- Work collaboratively with other staff.

**RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**:

- Establishing meaningful working relationships with clients and acting as a mentor and role model.
- Leading and assisting clients with daily routines and life skills (e.g., self-care and hygiene, time management, cleaning and organizing in the homes, shopping, cooking, budgeting).
- Planning and implementing recreational programming.
- Being aware of, monitoring and responding to the vulnerabilities and risk factors of our clients, as well as attending to any crises that arise.
- Being aware of, supporting and reinforcing client risk management plans and strategies.
- Working collaboratively with the other Support Workers and psychologists.
