**RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC**
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

**Position summary**
Under the general supervision of Dr Carolyn Jack, Division of Dermatology, the Clinical Laboratory Technician is responsible for the collection, receiving, accessioning and preparation of all samples for diagnostic testing and results reporting of clinical samples.

**General Duties**
The Clinical Laboratory Technician may be required to identify and resolve unsuitable specimens for testing. THE CLT is responsible for the collection, receiving, accessioning and preparation of all samples for diagnostic testing and results reporting of clinical samples.

Participates in the execution of laboratory projects and experiments. Performs a variety of specialized technical tasks according to established methodology.

**Education / Experience**

Education

Bachelor's degree in an area such as life science, medical technology, or a related field.

Experience
- Experience in qualitative research, particularly with experience in the clinical setting, knowledge translation, and project management skills. Knowledge of or interest in dermatology is an asset,
- Research experience in qualitative research methodologies, preferably in a health care setting.

**Required Skills**:

- In-depth knowledge of qualitative research methods - data collection and analysis,
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English (French not required, but an asset),
- Comfortable using software - EndNote, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), NVIVO, Atlas.to and online videoconferencing platforms,
- Excellent written and communication skills,
- Motivated and able to work independently, in team-oriented environment.

**Additional information**

This position is a Canada Summer Jobs opportunity. This is a government program offered to young Canadians aged 15 to 30 years old. To qualify, you must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment and legally entitled to work in Canada.

**Status** : Temporary full time

**Pay Scale**: $15.75/hour

**Work Shift**: Flexible, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

**Work Site**: MUHC - Glen site
