We are looking for compassionate individuals who want to make a positive impact on the lives of our seniors at Stone Lodge. We are recruiting for one Full-Time Recreation Coordinator. This is primarily a Monday-to-Friday position, working 1 weekend a month. This schedule may change depending on the needs of the residents and community.

About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Recreation Coordinator will be an integral member of the Stone Lodge team. The position is responsible this role include:
- Assist in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents, in collaboration with the Executive Director and leadership team
- Assists with the maintenance of appropriate department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing individual participation, charting;
- Maintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments, keeping them informed of current and upcoming events;
- Participates in team meetings to plan programs with residents' interests in mind;
- Facilitating residents to scheduled and pre-arranged outings;
- Assisting with the assessment of individual resident activity levels;
- Preparing, carrying out and evaluating daily activities;
- Assisting with meal services as required;
- Work in a position of trust with vulnerable adults (residents);
- Uphold and promote the organization's values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in Stone Lodge’s Code of Conduct;
- Complete other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications**:
- A college diploma in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Gerontology or equivalent is required;
- Previous experience working with seniors;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Outstanding time management and organizational skills;
- An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly;
- Must provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one;
- 3 Professional references;
- Proof of 2 Step TB testing or Chest X-ray;
- Safe Food Handlers Certificate or willing to obtain
