**Position Summary**:
The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for verifying products and process against established standards determined by the quality engineer or quality manager, the customer's contract, quality system or standards imposed by the government. This includes inspecting incoming material and finished goods, monitoring production line's inputs and outputs and analyzing trends for continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires close collaboration with machine operators, operations personnel and quality assurance department within the organization. This is a 4 month contract position from June-September.

**Responsibilities**:

- Sampling and inspection of products and process at various stages in manufacturing (i.e. incoming, work-in-process, and shipping) in accordance with Control Plan requirements to ensure adherence to engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Take samples of products during or after processing operation for routine analysis, test products for strength, durability and conformity to specifications.
- Determines adherence to engineering and customer specifications, department procedures, and quality standards.
- Utilizes knowledge of shop mathematics, blueprint reading, geometric tolerance and Statistical Process Controls (SPC).
- Utilizes precision measuring equipment (scales, calipers, micrometers, gauges, automatic measuring machines, etc.) and visual techniques.
- Uses computers to document quality records, first-off reports, and job status.
- Maintains product quality documentation in compliance with established procedures.
- Documents product defects and generating nonconformance reports in accordance with company policy on nonconforming materials.
- Coordinates with management and quality personnel on product quality problems and expedites solutions in a timely manner.
- Label accepted raw material and/or finished products
- Enforces company standards for safety and security regulations, environmental compliance and good shop housekeeping practices.

**Education and Experience Required**:

- High School Diploma or GED with minimum of 3 years’ experience in Quality Control Inspections, preferably in metal stamping or woodworking.

**Competencies/Skills Required**:

- Able to read and interpret Engineering drawings, specifications, and Purchase Orders to verify product compliance with the requirements set forth in those documents
- Must have the ability to use basic to complex inspection measurement equipment to check dimensions
- Familiar with SPC
- Familiar with GD&T
- Able to work with computer programs: MS Word, Excel, and Access
- Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and complete tasks with mínimal supervision
- Able and willingness to work overtime as required
