The Copywriter will play an integral role in developing Avenue Living’s tone, key messaging, campaigns, and thought leadership within the Marketing Communications Department, collaborating with cross-functional teams under the Avenue Living umbrella. This role reports directly to our Director, Content.
You'll be responsible for researching, writing, and editing paid, earned, owned, and shared content, as well as ensuring consistency and accuracy. You’ll work closely with the Director, Content to contribute to the overall success of various marketing projects.
**WHAT WILL YOU DO?**
- Research the asset management, multi-family residential, and Canadian financial industry to thoroughly understand our industry, competitors, and target audiences.
- Develop compelling, high-quality content for various channels, from resident communications, notices, reports, articles, blogs, social media and web to campaigns and video scripts.
- Develop long-form digital content that adheres to search engine optimization best practices.
- Collaborate in content strategy development and provide creative input for campaigns to reach and engage the target audience effectively.
- Schedule, draft questions, and conduct interviews with internal and external stakeholders.
- Plan outlines to communicate high-level ideas, concepts, and stories.
- Maintain consistency in brand voice, tone, and messaging across all communication channels.
- Understand and accurately communicate the unique value propositions of our various Trusts and business lines.
- Refine and consistently improve content, providing and accepting feedback in a professional manner.
- Turn technical concepts into easy-to-understand, enjoyable reading.
- Deliver various writing assignments with high attention to detail and quality copywriting.
**WHAT WILL YOU NEED?**
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, English, or related field.
- Proven experience in writing short
- and long-form copy (samples will be requested).
- Knowledge of Canadian Press style guidelines.
- 3-5 years of experience in a copywriting role.
- The ability to generate potential concepts for blog posts, educational videos, and other pieces based on industry insights and the business needs of the marketing team.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.
- Able to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- The ability to anticipate and effectively communicate and solve practical problems or issues.
- Professional demeanor: ability to work well with people at all levels and ability to navigate relationships with other creatives.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer-service orientation.
