**Job Summary**:
**Job Duties**:
- Ensure consistency and quality in the preparation and presentation of all food items.
- Conduct daily shift briefings to kitchen colleagues about upcoming and current functions.
- Liaise daily with the Executive Chef, Banquet Manager and Banquet Supervisors to keep open lines of communication regarding guest feedback
- Estimate Banquet Event Order production needs
- Maintain and enhance the food products through creative menu development and presentation
- Balance operational, administrative and department needs
- Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Follow kitchen policies, procedures, service and safety standards
- Implement and follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
- Lead shifts while personally preparing food items and executing requests
- Coordinate the training of staff in joint effort with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef
- Communicate with Sales and Banquets departments to ensure client needs are met
- Build relationships with hotel sales teams to work together on menu development, upsells or custom menus, as needed.
- Assist with catering events as required.
**Requirements**:
- 3-5 years’ in the culinary or food and beverage role
- Experience in catering and/or banquets an asset
- In-depth knowledge of kitchen operations, culinary techniques, and food safety regulations
- Must be able to work in hot, humid, and cold environments
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Required to move, lift, carry, pull and place up to 50lbs without assistance
- Exceptional communication skills
- Reliable and punctual - access to reliable transportation preferable
- Motivated, high performance team player
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
