**Position Summary**
We are looking for a Marketing Manager based at our Mississauga location reporting into the Senior Marketing Manager. In this position, the successful applicant will be responsible for building the Cat Treats & Litter portfolios in Canada. This includes taking responsibility for the strategic marketing management of their portfolio of brands, key projects and execution of marketing plans that achieve volume, organic growth, market share and profit objectives in line with the overall business priorities.
**A day in the life of a Marketing Manager**:
Leads the development and implementation of business reviews and brand plans
- Collects and compiles fact-based information including identification of key issues, opportunities and learnings for the brands in addition to competitive, promotional and category analysis. Translates these insights into business implications and develops strategic business plans and recommendations.
- Develops and maintains relationships with key US Product and Communication Experience counterparts to remain current on innovation/renovation projects and communication plans
- Manages the development and execution of key marketing programs to support brand objectives, working with internal and external suppliers to deliver in a timely manner and on budget
- Analyzes programs and activities against their objectives to evaluate & report back on the impact on the business.
Plays a prominent role in the development and implementation of innovation and renovation through working collaboratively with the cross functional team including US counterparts.
- Works with US Process Managers as key Canadian brand lead for North American launches and renovations.
- Leads the Canadian project management & internal I&R process for Canadian packaging and product adapts/updates.
- Regularly liaises with key US counterparts and participates in North American project meetings to remain current on innovation/renovation project progress and represent Canadian business needs. Makes recommendations and manages Canadian I&R plans accordingly.
Supported by the Senior Marketing Manager, develops recommendations to address issues and opportunities within the marketing disciplines of Pricing, Promotion, Research, and Other Marketing areas.
Responsible for the development and execution of project schedules, including working closely with suppliers, partners and cross
- functional team members:
- Co-ordinates and prepares regular status report for the Senior Marketing Manager.
- Issues up to date meeting notes, action schedules and project list.
Accountable for administrative functions required to manage the brand/business:
- Monitor and reconcile Brand spending budgets on a regular basis.
- Monitor and execute payments and update budget records.
**What will make you successful?**
- University Degree required in Business Administration. MBA an asset.
- 4-5 years of previous marketing experience in a consumer-packaged goods company.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to manage effectively in a fast paced multi-task environment.
- Proven ability to think strategically and develop strategic recommendations and business plans
- Strong project management skills and ability to follow t
