**_JOB SUMMARY_**
- Niagara Region has two (2) full-time 12-month Early Years and Child Care Intern positions available from May 2024 to August 2024. These positions are with the Children’s Services division of the Community Services Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate of a university program in, Public Administration, Business Administration, Public Health or a related field of study._
- The Early Years and Child Care Intern will support the entire Children’s Services division through participation in various projects. The incumbent will work with the Early Years and Child Care Specialists and Managers within Children’s Services. Primary duties include:_
- _Projec_t Management; scoping, chartering and planning (deliverables and timelines), managing and tracking project work/deliverables and developing tools, templates, dashboards and other supporting materials_
- _Research, analysis and reporting: gathering and analyzing data, researching and evaluating best practices and innovative strategies related to ministry guidelines, preparing reports and presentations_
- _Stakeholder engagement activities and events: Assist with the planning and execution of activities and events (i.e. obtaining input and feedback from the early years and child care sector and community partners)_
- _Support the development and tracking of key performance indicators through data analysis and visualization _
- _Support the implementation of ministry guidelines and frameworks; assisting with implementation of approved best practice and innovation strategies, developing tools, templates, dashboards and other supporting materials._
- _Support departmental communications activities, including website, intranet and social media content_
- _Other duties as assigned._

**_ EDUCATION_**
- _Completion of a bachelors degree in social sciences, public administration, business administration, public health or a related program_

**_ KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS_**
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)_
- _Strong research skills_
- _Excellent oral and written communication skills._
- _Ability to work independently and as part of a team._
- _Experience in project coordination_
- _Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information_
- _Strong _data analysis, data visualization and interpretation skills._

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS_**
- Degree completed in the last 12 months_
- _Must be able to start work in May 2024 _
- _I_n accordance with the Corporate Criminal Record Check Policy, the position requires the incumbent to undergo a Criminal Record Check, with vulnerable sector search, and submit a Canadian Vulnerable Police Clearance Certificate_
