**Primary Function**

The Quality Assurance Specialist will support the Quality Assurance department by ensuring that activities related to food safety and quality follow the company, plant, regulatory and customer requirements.

- Provide operations with technical support related to our products including root cause investigation of product failures and analytical services requests from customers.
- Work with operations and third party processors to ensure requirements of certifications are understood and enforced.
- Assist in harmonizing quality assurance and food safety standards across all departments and processing facilities.
- Provide guidance to operations ensuring all quality prerequisite programs are followed.
- Support customer complaint investigations.
- Report on results of quality systems and food safety internal audits.

- Drive corrective actions to resolution. Support operations as a resource in implementing changes, completing documentation changes.
- Participate in quality system audits and process improvement projects.

- Support operations in understanding quality assurance procedures and requirements. Assist in training operations.
- Team oriented and well-organized with the ability to work with a variety of people at all levels of the organization.
- Support efforts of quality team by cross-training on related projects and servicing as a resource for quality programs.

- Identify and implement processes to improve quality performance and sanitation.

**Knowledge, Skills, **and Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in technical field such as chemistry or engineering.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and excellent organization skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks/assignments simultaneously and complete assigned tasks accurately and on a timely basis.
- Previous experience with ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000 a plus
- Demonstrated experience with Good Laboratory Practices and laboratory skills; Experience with HACCP/Food Safety Programs; Experience with good manufacturing practices; Experience in food manufacturing or Quality Assurance

**Job Types**: Part-time, Full-time

**Salary**: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
