Job Description:
As an Early Childhood Educator Assistant at Kentville After-School Program, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational journey of our after school children. We invite newcomers to join our team and contribute their rich experiences to the diverse tapestry of our center.

**Responsibilities**:

- Engage actively with children in outdoor and indoor activities and play.
- Prepare and supervise snacks for children.
- Plan and organize age-appropriate activities based on children’s interests.
- Implement positive behavior guidance strategies.
- Maintain open and effective communication with caregivers.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
- Complete “Entry Level” certification (no cost; 16 online modules, completed by 6 months)
- Collaborate with other educators to create a positive and nurturing environment.

**Requirements**:

- Valid Early Childhood Education certificate level 1 or above or enrolled in a recognized training program.
- Passion for working with children and creating a stimulating, positive learning environment.
- Ability to work well in a team and independently.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Preparedness for outdoor activities and changing weather conditions.
- Criminal record check with vulnerable sector check under 2 years old.
- Child Abuse registry check under 2 years old from the province of Nova Scotia

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 15 per week

**Salary**: $15.20-$25.00 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Kentville, NS B4N 1H7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
