We are looking for a dynamic and collaborative individual who wants to make an impact on our organization and community as Arts, Culture & Event Specialist

You will administrate and implement municipal cultural programs, public art, events initiatives, marketing/promotion/sponsorship portfolio and champion community partners’ special events in realization of our Community Strategic Plan: Innovative Innisfil 2030, being true to the values: “Community First. Future Next. Balance Always”.

As Arts, Culture & Event Specialist, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of municipal cultural programs, public art, events and marketing/promotion/sponsorship portfolio within the Sports & Recreation service area, as well as:

- Serving as the community liaison resource in providing knowledge, expertise, and building relationships required in support of community-led cultural initiatives.
- Ensuring that the actions outlined in the Town’s Culture Master plan are implemented and facilitated.
- Developing and maintaining strong professional relationships with internal and external parties and working collaboratively to steward municipal events from inception to completion.
- Leading the promotion and expansion of Town corporate advertising and sponsorship initiatives and taking a leading-edge approach to implementing new opportunities
- Overseeing vendors and consultants engaged to perform work at the Town Facilities for various arts, culture, and event initiatives, according to the Town regulations and procedures; working with event providers to ensure that risk management plans meet Town standards, and following emergency and safety procedures.
- Coordinating and assigning staff duties and responsibilities, delegating tasks to staff to be completed and delivered in a safe and operationally efficient manner.
- Job Requirements- A college diploma in Business Administration, Event Management, Recreation and Leisure Studies, Advertising and Marketing Communications or related discipline.
- A minimum of two (2) to three (3) years’ experience working in event management and development / promotion or related environment. Experience in a municipal recreational environment would be an asset.
- Previous experience leading cross functional teams, supervising staff, directing work activities, and monitoring results.
- A valid First Aid CPR C and AED certification.
- A valid Class "G" driver's licence in good standing and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business and availability to attend evening and/or weekend meetings or other events as required.
