Status: Permanent Part Time

Date Required: ASAP

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Observes all policies, procedures, and standards as set by Villa Colombo and the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC).
- Works independently to plan and facilitate daily mass.
- Coordinates chaplaincy coverage as required;
- Works with Assistant Executive Director, and/or Supervisor, Recreation & Programs to plan and implement mass for special religious occasions in a manner that honours Italian traditions and customs.
- Works with Assistant Executive Director, and/or Supervisor, Recreation & Programs to plan and implement annual commemorative mass.
- Assists in creating suitable physical environments for the residents/clients, and encourages participation in religious programs.
- Reports regularly to Assistant Executive Director or designate regarding all aspects of the chapel as required.
- Participates in Pastoral Care Committee, Ethics Committee, and Palliative Care Committee meetings.
- Greet and welcome new residents and inform them of pastoral care services available.
- Administers sacrament of the sick to all willing residents bi-annually, and more frequently as requested.
- Attend visitation of deceased residents at the funeral home when possible.

A police reference check for the vulnerable sector, not older than 6 months, will be required upon hire.
