Energy Analyst Assistant

All applicants must be available to start work on short notice and intend on returning to school at the end of the season.

Under the general direction of the Energy Analyst, the Energy Analyst Assistant Summer Student will support work to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions in new/existing buildings as well as assisting in the construction and maintenance of healthier facilities which are less expensive to operate, as outlined in the City of Winnipeg’s Climate Action Plan.

**As the **_Energy Analyst Assistant - Summer Student,_** **you will:

- Create/maintain lists of internal sustainability resources.
- Build upon the existing City of Winnipeg owned building electricity and natural gas data analysis.
- Track building energy demand.
- Construct RetScreen building models with training.
- Investigate how the City can implement low or no cost projects.
- Compile basic information sheets for quick and easy, educational reading, geared towards Municipal Accommodations staff.
- Investigate and consider Efficiency Manitoba, and other incentive funding where possible, within City of Winnipeg projects.

**Your education and qualifications include**:

- Successful completion of minimum one (1) year of a recognized university/college technical program in a related field coupled with related experience. A combination of training, education and experience will be considered.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Effective written communication with the ability to complete accurate records.
- Effective verbal communication skills.
- Strong research skills.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with others.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
