**Purpose**: Support the fabrication division of Nucor Harris Rebar with machine repair, maintenance and trouble shooting. Assist the safety team in the design, development and/or installation of machine guards and safety devices. Advise Branch Manager in machine purchasing and installation.

Primary

**Responsibilities**:

- Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Harris Rebar’s vision and values.
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure safe and optimum functioning equipment, systems and processes.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and modify equipment to maintain workplace safety and production efficiency.
- Perform general repairs that do not require a specialized technician.
- Generate parts lists and labour time estimates for maintenance and repairs.
- Train key shop teammates on new equipment and/or modifications to existing equipment.
- Maintain repair records.
- Maintain general housekeeping to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform rebar fabricating duties including but not limited to; operating a bending machine to bend reinforcing steel bars, operate an overhead crane to move, assemble and select material for fabrication or shipping, operate other machinery as required to fabricate rebar in accordance with customer orders and specifications.
- Unload and load trailers and store material accordingly.
- Perform all duties and responsibilities with safety at the forefront of all decision making.
- Perform additional duties as requested by management.

Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Minimum two years’ experience working on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance and repairs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams.
- Must be organized and detail oriented.
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Training in electrical controls, welding, mobile crane operation and rigging is preferred.

Special Demands

Physical Demands
- Heavy lifting may be necessary.
- Working conditions may be noisy, dusty, hot, cold.
