**The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Bureau Commander of Fleet, Supply and Weapon Services Bureau** are seeking a collaborative leader to join the Fleet Services Section. In this exciting, rewarding and challenging opportunity, you will lead and manage the business/operational planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of analytical support program delivery strategies and frameworks within the OPP, and to lead related partnership development and stakeholder consultations processes.

Note: This is an operational position requiring a high level of engagement with the teams and stakeholders. The successful applicant will be required to report a work location in Orillia to perform their duties, five (5) days a week, in accordance with Ontario Public Service workplace policies.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is one of North America's largest deployed police services with more than 5,800 uniformed officers, 2,400 civilian employees and 830 Auxiliary officers. The Fleet, Supply and Weapons Services Bureau (FSWSB)

The focus of the Fleet Services Section is to acquire, maintain and administer the OPP's complete line of fleet products, including police pursuit vehicles, utility vehicles, marine equipment, seasonal equipment and unmarked units. Frequent and effective communication with front line personnel is critical to the success of Fleet Services initiatives.

FSWSB manages one of the largest fleets in the OPS, consisting of approximately:

- 5200 vehicles
- 159 vessels
- 500 ATVs, snowmobiles and trailers

The Fleet Services Section is responsible for researching new law enforcement vehicles. Fleet Services staff support the development of new special purpose, custom vehicles from design to delivery (i.e., specialty trucks for northern Ontario, Armored Rescue Vehicles, etc.).

Policy development regarding fleet selection, distribution and cost containment, as it applies to fleet operations, is also a key element of Fleet Services work.

**What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this role, you will:

- Be responsible for the daily operations, including the delivery of product, programs and/or services, within Fleet Services
- Supervise and coordinate work by setting and communicating standards and priorities, scheduling, assigning, and reviewing work
- Monitor progress, evaluate work performance, coach and train staff
- Monitor, assess and analyze section performance, efficiency and effectiveness to ensure adherence to standards for consistent service and organizational excellence.
- Identify changing and emerging needs, service issues and gaps to develop, recommends and implements operational improvements and initiatives.
- Provide specialized advice to senior managers and staff to resolve difficult problems, implement needed new programs, and to undertake joint ventures.
- Obtain directions from other levels of management to ensure all performance, operational and service objectives are being met, and communicate any urgent issues that arise.
- Develop and maintain linkages when contacting external vendors, vehicle repair shops, external personnel and other municipal police agencies
