About the role:
Calian is proud to continue a long-standing contractual relationship with the Department of National Defence (DND) to provide healthcare services to the Canadian Armed Forces. Through the Health Care Provider Contract, Calian employs health care professionals across Canada who are integral to supporting the health and wellbeing of our military members.
Our dynamic healthcare teams consist of approximately 750 professionals providing healthcare services coast-to-coast at 30 CAF locations across Canada.
Calian is currently seeking both full and part-time Dental Assistant's to work at CFB Ottawa. The Dental Assistant functions as a member of the dental health care team.
Key activities include:

- Assist Dentists at chairside to perform wide range of dental procedures
- Take digital radiographs
- Perform wide range of dental laboratory procedures
- Ensure instruments and equipment are sterilized and prepared for each patient treatment
- Provide administrative support such as scheduling programs, and maintaining patient records

The qualifications:

- Graduate of an Accredited Level II Intra-Oral Dental Assisting program
- Minimum of 1 year of full-time equivalent experience providing clinical assistance in all disciplines of dentistry and performing intra-oral procedures
- Ontario Dental Assistant Association (ODAA) certification and National Dental Assistant Examining Board (NDAEB) certification
- CPR Level C with AED
- Bilingualism (English and French) considered a strong asset

Type of Assignment:
Full and part time positions available. Schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:15-3:45

Les activités principales sont:

- Donner les services d’assistance à la chaise dans tous les domaines en dentisterie;
- Assurer l’efficacité des traitements en prévoyant l’équipement nécessaire;
- Communiquer des informations en hygiènes dentaires et conseil post-opératoire;
- Appliquer les procédures de stérilisation et de désinfection des instruments, du matériel et du cabinet dentaire;
- Procéder à l’entretien quotidien et hebdomadaire du matériel dentaire;
- Assurer les services administratifs reliés aux soins dentaires;
- Effectuer du travail de laboratoire et en maintenir un registre;
- Entrer les données contenues sure les fiches de visite des patients, mettant ainsi à jour l’historique des soins dentaires;
- Mettre et tenir à jour l’histoire électronique des dentistes;
- Mettre et tenir à jour le dossier électronique et papier des patients.

Les qualifications:

- Diplômé d’un programme accrédité en assistance dentaire (Niveau II)
- Minimum d'un an d'expérience à temps plein
- Certification Bureau national d’examen d’assistance dentaire (BNEAD) et certification Association des Assistantes Dentaire d’Ontario (AADO)
- Certificat de RCR à jour
