Conducting regular/routine preventative patrols and traffic stops throughout the County.
- Enforcing any Provincial Statute for which enforcement authority has been granted by the Province.
- Assisting in the inspection and enforcement of County Bylaws of a regulatory nature.
- Adhering to guidelines as set out in County Policies, Bylaws, and Procedures
- Cooperating with and assist other Community Peace Officers and Bylaw Enforcement Officers on a regular basis.
- When required, or at the request of the Director or designate, attending scenes where County owned vehicles or equipment have been involved in an accident and report their findings to the Supervisor.
- When practicable, or at the request of the Director or designate, attending scenes where an accident has occurred on a County Road to assess road conditions and signage and report their findings to the Supervisor.
- Maintaining a liaison with the RCMP and other agencies of a regulatory and enforcement nature and assist other law enforcement agencies when needed.
- Maintaining certifications including, but not limited to, Pressure Point Control Tactics (PPCT), Dangerous Goods, Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) Spray, Radar, etc.
- Promoting public safety/awareness and positive relationships with the community through public education and events when needed.
- Providing advice and assistance to the public, especially the citizens of the County, relative to specific bylaw or statutory questions and when necessary, refer the matter to the proper authority.
- Responding to and investigate complaints from County residents regarding County Bylaws and Provincial Statutes, as permitted by the Province.
- Acting when it is deemed necessary to close any highway or establish detours when an unsafe condition or situation occurs.
- When required, investigating hazardous or potentially unsafe highway conditions, and bring the matter to the attention of the department or person responsible for taking remedial action.
- Maintaining Physical Fitness standards as deemed necessary by Management.
- Assisting in the preparations of bylaws of a regulatory nature when directed.
- Assisting the Supervisor with the development and effective implementation of the Department's Strategic Plan.
- Assisting the Supervisor with long range planning and policy research.
- Assisting the Crown Prosecutor and the County Prosecutor in the prosecution of County Matters.

**Working Conditions**
- Based on a shift schedule of 2,080 hours per year in a 24-day rotation (5 on 3 off, 4 on 4 off, 4 on 4 off) with both day and night shifts worked. Day shifts 0700h - 1730h and Night shifts from 1330h - 0000h.
- Frequent exposure to seasonal and environmental conditions.
- Extensive driving, occasional lifting, and periods of standing.
- Must be available for overtime and work on weekends and holidays as required.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Possess strong communication skills (verbal and written), interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Must be able to obtain and retain a RCMP issued Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License or equivalent supported by 5-year drivers abstract.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Post-secondary degree, diploma, certificate, or Red Seal Trade of any type.
- Has completed CPOIP or an approved equivalent.
- Possess current PARE, APREP, COPAT, or POPAT test result.
- Minimum 5 years experience (preferably rural operations) with a municipality in a Level 1 Community Peace Officer operational capacity or equivalent.
- Possess a Class 1, 2, or 3 Alberta Operator’s Licence or equivalent.
- Experience and training in the enforcement of commercial vehicle weights and dimensions, transportation of dangerous goods, and CVSA inspector designation.
- RADAR/LIDAR certified.
- Certification in Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC).
- Experience in difficult customer service roles.
- Experience in law enforcement.
- Experience with preparing and using _Municipal Government Act_ orders to remedy issues.
- Experience handling domestic animals.

Experience with public speaking.

**Salary**: $31.44-$47.41 per hour
