The Cornwall Sea Lions Swim Club exists to deliver skills and training in competitive swimming to support the pursuit of individual excellence. Our current program consists of a pre-competitive portion that strives to provide youth with the fundamentals of swimming and an introduction to the fun of competitive swimming; and a competitive portion, focused on high-performance training. This year we have just over 50 swimmers across all groups. Our club trains out of Cornwall’s Aquatic Centre, opened in 2004, which consists of a full 6-lane 25 metre pool.

We are looking for a **Head Coach** to continue to grow and to develop the Club - a staple in Cornwall’s sporting community for many decades - from our Sea Pups program through to our Elite swimmers.

- Experience developing and implementing a full-season plan;
- Oversee and develop the practice plans for all levels of swimmers. Communicate with assistant coaches before practice to clearly outline goals for the practice and address any questions and expectations;
- Ensure a balanced approach to the different strokes, types of training and periodization of training; monitor practice to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all swimmers

**Relationship-Building and Communication**
- Develop a positive and motivating relationship with each swimmer;
- Communicate regularly with swimmers about goal setting using an appropriate model; consistently reinforce with swimmers about choices and goals to help swimmers understand the importance of decision-making in the training process;
- Provide constructive and honest feedback to parents/guaradians about the progress of their swimmers upon request in a reasonable and timely manner; maintain regular communication with swimmers, parents and interest-holders through the provision of a monthly newsletter (or similar);
- Supervise, mentor and delegate responsibilities appropriately to all CSL assistant coaches and junior coaches;

- Work in tandem with the Board to uphold the mission, vision and values of the Cornwall Sea Lions Swim Club;
- Develop a dryland program that addresses the demands of swimming, potential weaknesses, and helps prevent injury;
