**Position Purpose**

As Finance Advisor, supporting a major manufacturing asset in Sarnia, you will be embedded with the business stakeholders and accountable for accurately planning, aggressively appraising performance, and expediting interventions when necessary. Success within this role is demonstrated by evaluating high quality data through business partnering, exercising curiosity, and utilizing your influencing skills when required.

Within this role you will manage both highest value and material risks assets. You will be contributing specialized finance expertise and a broad balanced business sense while supporting decisions facing asset leadership teams. This role is supported by both a local team of peers and an extended global team of Finance professional around the world.

Our Finance Advisors strive to:

- Collaborate with the department leadership team to create competitive budgets that are owned by our business partners
- Enable dialogue to better understand variances, planning, and interventions required
- Co-deliver biannual external benchmarking exercises
- Coach and connect our global finance teams to business partners at the site location
- Act as an integrative leader for a material Profit Centre through acting as a trusted finance interface within the business
- Build a deep, differentiated knowledge of manufacturing businesses
- Drive their business towards exceptional delivery through demonstrating curiosity and accountability
- Develop competency growth through supporting alternative fuels and energy transition projects

Shell is committed to supporting flexible working arrangements where feasible. A minimum of 3 days per week on site is expected with flexibility to work from home 1-2 days per week on average.

**Skills & Requirements**:

- Legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time permanent basis without sponsorship
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance or Accounting required, CPA is an asset
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field
- Possess a natural sense of curiosity combined with a dedication to personal accountability
- Ability to draw from a core set of Finance skills including planning, reporting, appraisal, and commercial mindset
- Demonstrate leadership skills through employing a range of influencing skills, and collaborating across position levels and technical backgrounds
