The Forensic Youth Social Worker provides assessment and treatment services to youth in contact with the criminal

justice system, who may be deemed unfit or not criminally responsible as a result of a mental health disorder.

Employment Requirements:

- Masters in Social Work, and registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
- Minimum of 3 years working experience with patients in a forensic mental health setting
- Highly developed assessment skills
- Experience consulting and collaborating with members of the clinical team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to formulate and type reports in a timely

fashion
- Self directed and able to work independently
- Thorough knowledge of theory and practice of professional Social Work, treatment and practices that would be

applied in a mental health or related setting such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Psychosis and Dialectical

Behaviour Therapy
- Extensive and demonstrated knowledge of community resources, the principles of Psychosocial Rehabilitation or a

Substitute Decision Act, the Ontario Review Board, and the Youth Criminal Justice Act

Salary Range: $44.670 to 57.900
