**Description**:

- Reporting to the Coordinator of the Learning Commons, the Pedagogical Counsellor supports the academic sector by providing an overview of student success initiatives, developing tools and resources in this area, collecting and analyzing data, and making recommendations related to student success. They also participate in the student success services offered to students by the Tutoring and Academic Success Centre (TASC), like midterm assessment outreach and academic probation meetings.

More specifically, but not limited to, the Pedagogical Counsellor:

- Creates a global view of student success by collaborating with Learning Commons professionals, the Pedagogical Support & Innovation (PSI) office, relevant committees, and/or work groups on the cyclical collection, analysis, interpretation and dissemination of college-wide and program-specific monitoring information;
- Counsels and supports Learning Commons professionals, relevant committees, and/or work groups:

- On improving mechanisms and developing new approaches to student success;
- In identifying and using indicators and appropriate evidence to study the impact of student success initiatives;
- On data management and reporting methods and processes.
- Collaborates with the PSI office’s:

- Analyst to undertake research, analyze data, and construct an integrated view of student success;
- Pedagogical Counsellors to collect pertinent data and information from academic programs and to advise on program-based interventions to improve student success.
- Collaborates with the PSI office, faculty, departments, and program committees to identify, develop, and support pedagogical action plans, academic projects and tools that address student success needs;
- Collaborates with IT to design and develop programs and tools for the collection and analysis of specific data and makes recommendations geared towards solving identified problems;
- Stays abreast of the Student Success Plan, by-laws, policies, and information pertinent to student success across the college and the CEGEP network;
- Participates in pertinent student success focused taskforces, committees, and/or work groups including the Carrefour de la réussite as the REPSTAT for the college;
- Contributes to Learning Commons team-wide mandates and special projects.

During peak periods, the Pedagogical Counsellor participates in the main dossiers of the TASC Student Success team:

- Meets and follows-up with students who have been identified as at risk through one or more interventions;
- Assists in the development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of proactive and reactive cyclical interventions;
- Applies continuous ongoing improvement practices while using evidence-based inquiry to assess, modify and create cyclical interventions that aim to increase student success.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (35hrs/week) - with schedule flexibility when necessary.
Contract: October 21, 2024 until June 27, 2025, or until the return of the incumbent to her position, whichever occurs first.

- Undergraduate degree in an appropriate field of specialization.

- Excellent knowledge of the Cégep system and programs;
- Graduate degree in an appropriate field of specialization (an asset);
- Excellent knowledge of information systems and databases used in the Cégep network - CLARA, PSEP, DÉFI, etc. (an asset);
- Experience using statistical and qualitative analysis programs, research methods, data collection, analysis, and clearly presenting findings to stakeholders (an asset);
