Medical Receptionist

Duties: include, but are not limited:

- Greet and check-in patients at the front desk of a medical office
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Collect and update patient information in electronic medical records
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to appropriate staff
- Managing busy workflow
- Checking medical supplies inventory
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Processing Specialist referrals
- Scanning of lab results, and specialists consults in EMR
- Obtaining, verifying and updating all necessary demographic information from patients and accurately inputting information into the electronic medical record.
- Maintaining patient's privacy/confidentiality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area

Experience and qualifications:

- Previous experience working in a medical office or similar administrative role preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems is a plus
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in using computers and basic office software
- previous medical office experience is a MUST
- knowledge of **ACCURO **EMR system is a MUST
- medical secretariat certificate or related certificates or diplomas
- pleasant telephone manner / customer service
- performing phlebotomy is an asset

Possess a work permit or SIN to work in Canada
