**PURPOSE**:
To ensure that TBPL is able to meet community needs by contributing individual capabilities to the achievement of group objectives and by working effectively with others in a group setting

**ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
1. Assumes in-charge responsibility, when upgraded as per the Collective Agreement, for a Community Hub, in the absence of the Community Hub Librarian to ensure a safe working environment

2. Promotes, plans and implements programmes and partnerships utilizing the community-led approach to meet the needs of the community

3. Provides service, support and readers’ advisory including active roving to increase community use of the Library

4. Provides tours and orientation of Community Hub services and facilities to raise community awareness and performance

5. Provides community outreach activities outside of the Community Hub to focus on resources and services available at the Hubs

6. Promotes Community Hub services through displays and publicity materials to increase community use of the Library’s collections and programs

7. Participates in cataloguing, collection maintenance and weeding, selection of materials, inter-library services, digitization and indexing to ensure the collection meets the needs of the community

8. Provides research assistance, computer coaching, instruction and e-book help to encourage digital literacy in our community

9. Facilitates the implementation of change and innovation including actively participating in working groups to further strategic initiatives

10. Monitors budgets and prepares reports to identify community impacts and outcomes

11. Organizes and collects all library statistics, analyzes and prepares statistical reports and government surveys and shares reports with all levels in the organization

12. Supervises, schedules and trains staff and volunteers to optimize performance.

13. Adheres to the policies, procedures and standards, as identified by the TBPL Board to ensure compliance with City by-laws, and all relevant provincial and federal legislative requirements

**MASTERY**_**:_

The position requires:
Library & Information Technician Diploma.

A minimum of two years relevant experience is preferred.

Proven organizational, interpersonal, supervisory, communication, team participation, problem solving and customer engagement skills.

Demonstrates empathy, judgement and initiative in working with patrons, staff, community groups and partners.

Must undergo a successful Criminal Record Check.
