Capstone Infrastructure Corporation is seeking a Station Operator, to work with the Operations Team in Canada. The Station Operator is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the collection, transformation and switching facilities required to deliver power to the province’s independently run transmission grid.
**THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN MOUNT FOREST, ON**

The Station Operator will independently initiate and perform most work tasks, ensuring compliance with local regulations, industry best practices and other standards relevant to operation of the facility. The Station Operator will report directly to the Station Manager and will assist with other duties as required.

Key Responsibilities:

- Monitoring and maintenance of Substation SCADA system
- Respond to switching needs and breakdown situations
- Grounding and creating safe work zones for maintenance or repair tasks
- Maintaining equipment related to plant operations
- Conducting inspections of the Site, Substations and Balance of Plant
- Maintaining records of Inspections and Equipment Certifications
- Preparing and checking Utility Work Protection Code documents
- Filing and retaining all UWPC forms as required
- Ensuring adequate inventory of High Voltage Spare Parts
- Inspection of transmission and distribution lines for vegetation and other potential problems
- Surveying private lanes to the turbines and doing minor clean up
- Assist the manager in developing technical operating instructions and manuals
- Providing underground cable locates
- Infrared Inspections of electrical equipment
- Maintaining hardcopies and electronic copies of station electrical and structural prints
- Assisting with the maintenance of the operations facility as required
- Additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Knowledge of electrical power and distribution systems.
- Knowledge of high voltage specific grounding methods for creating a safe work area.
- Knowledge of station relays and event collection; specifically, SEL and GE Multilin relays.
- Knowledge of communications and network protocols, e.g., MODBUS, DNP3, etc.
- Strong computer skills, interfacing to modern protection and control systems.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and interpret for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures for high voltage electrical equipment.
- Ability to operate specialized test equipment and interpret the results appropriately.
- Must be able to climb a ladder without assistance and work at heights above 300 ft.
- Extensive knowledge of maintenance and repair processes and procedures.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
