**Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Manager, Health Services, or designate, the Secretary is responsible for providing administrative duties and clerical support to Respiratory Services through the provision of reception duties along with routine and assigned clerical duties such as booking appointments, directing patients; maintaining files, compiling statistical reports, typing correspondence and other associated duties. The Secretary exhibits sound professional judgment and initiative while working within the Mission, Vision and Strategic Directions and incorporates into daily practice the Core Competencies and Values of the organization.

**Qualifications**:

- Graduate from a recognized office/business administration program required
- Minimum of one (1) year recent related experience providing clerical support in a health care setting required, including experience with patient bookings and waitlist management
- Certification in medical terminology required
- Accurate keyboarding and data entry skills with a minimum speed of 25 wpm, and a maximum 5% error rate
- Excellent organizational, communication (oral and written), and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a high degree of tact, sensitivity, judgment, courtesy and confidentiality when dealing with all levels of staff and the public
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and accurately handle multiple priorities
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team, with the ability to understand own limitations and seek guidance as necessary
- Demonstrated outcome oriented by identifying ways to improve work or processes based on results and/or evidence and evidence of innovation and creativity within project work
- Ability to take and transcribe minutes
- Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness and organizational health
- Physical and mental capabilities to perform the duties of the position such as standing, sitting, keyboarding, telephone duties, multitasking, working under pressure to meet deadlines and working flexible hours as necessary and travelling to clinics within the South Shore Geographical Area
- Demonstrated regular attendance in current and previous employment
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

**Hours of Work**:

- Short assignment part-time position; 37.5 hours bi-weekly.

**Salary Information**:
$20.15 - $21.98 Hourly
