**POSITION OUTLINE**

Reporting to the Manager, Information Management, the Business Analyst is a liaison between the portfolios and Business Systems within the Home and Community Care Support Services Mississauga Halton. Participates in the identification of business requirements, definition of function specifications, monitoring of project activities throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The purpose of the role is to provide comprehensive services to support the design, development, implementation and rollout of business systems with emphasis on the enhancement of client care, customer service, improved efficiency, quality and optimize the use of resources.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Business Support**
- Identifies, defines and documents information requirements, business processes and functional specifications to support business decisions via meetings, data analysis and audits, surveys with stakeholders etc.

- Lead, or participate in project teams, develop project plan, monitor and enforce project timelines
- Researches and recommends practices, models, technologies and software to meet business needs
- Participates in the implementation of new practices and models for service delivery
- Contribute to the training provided to end-users
- Applies requirements of data privacy legislation to business support activities as mandated

**Technical Support**
- Identifies, defines and documents the impact of new software releases to existing business practices and processes
- Identifies, defines, develops, conducts and documents testing according to Acceptance Test Plans
- Ensures operational procedures are followed to enable the efficient operation of systems
- Provides technical and functional knowledge to support training for staff and/or key-trainers
- Liaises with external personnel or organizations to affect solutions
- Develops and delivers reports outside the scope of Decision Support
- Acts as technical mentor as appropriate
- Applies security best practice as appropriate

**Team Building**
- Develops professional working relationships with team members
- Works respectfully, positively and collaboratively within a team environment sharing experiences and lessons learned
- Supports the team and works with team members to ensure department needs are met including absence coverage

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education, Training & Experience**
- Post-secondary education in, Information Technology, Business Information System, Engineering or related field
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in related field
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) and/or Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) designation an asset
- Experience and working knowledge of tools, techniques, measures and systems for developing and monitoring information systems
- Working knowledge of relational database systems such as MS-SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc., being able to write and modify SQL queries, stored procedures and views
