**About Us**:
The Centre of dreams and hopes is a non-profit organisation that services clients whom are neurodivergent (Autism, Down-Syndrome, Intellectual disability). The organisation has two respite program at our two locations where clients sleep at our location from friday to sunday. Giving the parents repreive. The cook is cooking meals for our two respite programs, simple homemade meals.

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare a variety of meals that cater to dietary restrictions, preferences, and nutritional needs. This includes lunch, dinner, and snacks for 40 people.
- Menu Planning: Develop and adjust menus by season
- Food Safety:Ensure all food is prepared, stored, and served in compliance with health and safety regulations. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Special Dietary Requirements: Accommodate various dietary needs such as gluten-free, Halal, and other special diets as required by clients.
- Inventory Management:Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage food storage to minimize waste and ensure ingredient availability.
- Adaptability: Be prepared to adjust meal plans and preparation methods based on feedback from clients and staff

**Qualifications**:

- Experience: Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a setting that serves individuals with diverse needs. Experience in non-profit or healthcare settings is a plus.
- Skills:Strong culinary skills with a focus on nutrition and dietary accommodations. Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Knowledge: Understanding of dietary restrictions and the ability to create balanced, nutritious meals. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, and staff members
- Sensitivity: A compassionate approach with a genuine interest in supporting neurodivergent individuals and their specific needs.

**Certifications**: Food Handler’s Certification or similar certification in food safety is manditory. If cook doesnt have this certification, we will pay for the certification.**

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and moving around the kitchen.
- Manual dexterity for food preparation and cooking tasks.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
