**KEY OBJECTIVE**:
Reporting to the CI Manager, the Team Lead will work with the Montreal based underwriting team to implement business strategies to achieve profit and growth objectives for the Eastern region. In addition to handling an assigned book of business, the Team Lead is responsible for coaching and developing other staff members. The Team Lead will also participate in recruitment efforts and in training less experienced underwriters. In conjunction with the CI Manager, the Team Lead will support managing both team and individual performance while supporting day-to-day operations.

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Provide ongoing training and coaching to the underwiring team and offer operational support to the CI Manager;
Act as a knowledge resource for the underwriting team; fielding employee questions as related to processes and procedures;
In collaboration with industry practice manager and product management, as applicable, serves as a technical resource for referrals and underwriting authority;
Assist in onboarding and training of new staff members; review both new business accounts and renewals within company guidelines;
Perform underwriting audit reviews in conjunction with the CI Manager;
Implement underwriting strategies to meet division goals and objectives with the CI Manager;
Handle escalated broker inquiries, ensuring prompt and effective resolution;
Effectively maintain assigned portfolio, underwriting new and renewal business on complex accounts;
Develops opportunities and provides customized approaches on market conditions and broker needs.

Work Experience

Completion of University degree (or equivalent work experience);
5+ years of relevant underwriting experience;
Written and verbal bilingualism in French and English is necessary to ensure effective communication with all stakeholders of the Chubb company;
Prior experience providing training, coaching, mentoring and leadership, informally and formally;
Must be detail oriented, analytical and possess excellent critical thinking;
Demonstrated track record of delivering superior customer service and proven ability to foster business relationships;
Strong time management skills and ability to work in high paced, changing work environment;
Demonstrated track record of establishing successful strategies and executing the priorities for a segment or book of business.
