The CO2 Extraction Lead is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational execution for all activities related to CO2 Extraction at CannaPiece Corp. This role includes overseeing CO2 extraction-related production activities, operations, training, safety awareness, and compliance with GPP standards, Health Canada, and safety regulations. The CO2 Extraction Lead will be a team player and a respectful collaborator, always using their position to grow the company through the empowerment and development of others.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Operate, clean, and maintain CO2 extraction machines and ancillary equipment
- Fill out batch records and report daily activity and accomplishments to supervisors/managers
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and work to resolve them
- Perform intermediate CO2 extract processing operations such as winterization, filtration, solvent recovery, and decarboxylation
- Supervise extraction technicians and participate in recruiting activities (hiring/promoting etc.)
- Collaborate with QA, Facilities, Hydrocarbon Extraction Team, Post-Processing Team, Sanitation Team, and Inventory Team to ensure shared resources are managed effectively and company targets are met
- Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with Good Production Practices (GPP)

**KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE**

Training:

- Onboarding and orientation provided by internal Subject Matter Expert (SME)
- Self-training on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Interaction with equipment suppliers for training as needed

Skills & Abilities:

- Skilled at multitasking in a production environment
- Proficient in weighing and measuring, documenting work, and troubleshooting chemical process equipment and ancillary systems (e.g., chillers, heaters, pumps, compressors, computer control systems)
- Experience supervising teams and motivating them to accomplish goals
- Ability to communicate professionally with team members and strategize activities to hit deadlines
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for resolving technical equipment/process issues
- Experience handling compressed gases and piping/tubing installation is an asset

Physical & Cognitive Requirements:

- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and climb stairs
- Must be quickly responsive with physical mechanical intervention as needed within the operation
- Ability to work under pressure and multitask effectively

Knowledge & Experience:

- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role or industry is preferred (e.g., CO2 extraction at a Canadian LP)
- Knowledge of cannabis extraction, or other natural products extraction, and refining technologies
- Familiarity with GPP (training can be provided)
- Experience with CO2 extract winterization, filtration, and distillation is an asset

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree in STEM is preferred

Additional Requirements:

- **Holding Health Canada Security Clearance Status is an asset**
