**Extraction Lab Specialist**

Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM

**About the Role**

The Extraction Lab Specialist is responsible for leading and maintaining extractions and processing for Cannabis derived products.

**Responsibilities**
- Establish strategic plan for their cannabis program and target deadlines
- Manage and deliver best practices for production scale purification processes
- Write protocols for equipment and manufacturing process
- Support the management of batch records, SOPs and qualification documents related to manufacturing process.
- Coach and mentor extraction staff in operating production scale purification equipment
- Maintain and safeguard company policies, safety standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Production Practices (GPP)
- Manage the development and validation of analytical methods for new innovative products for recreational and medical purposes
- Develop in-process test methods
- Advise and manage formulation optimization and stability experiments, taking into account Health Canada regulations on excipients, daily tolerable dosages, ICH guidelines, Cannabis Act, and GMP scale-up where applicable.
- Motivate team to take timely action, resolving deviations in a timely manner
- Monitor progress to departmental goals with company strategy
- Identify and execute department goals & objectives and supports direct reports with achieving results and KPI’s.
- Gather and analyze data, and automate data workflows

**Job Requirements**
- Education in Science or Engineering, Chemistry, or alike.
- Hands-on experience in cannabis extraction with CO2, Hydrocarbon and, Ethanol is considered an asset, but not required.
- Professional experience with Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Production Practices, and Good Documentation Practices.
- Ability to learn how to develop and optimize distillation methods.
- Hands-on experience with cannabinoid purification is considered an asset but not required.
- Ability to prioritize multiple project deliverables with high attention to detail.
- Proven ability to follow process/product development projects.
- Impeccable verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient using MS Office software.
- Ability to clear a Police Criminal Check.
- Able to maintain high degree of Quality Assurance SOP’s with daily communication with Quality Assurance representatives as required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $23.00 per hour
