**JOB SUMMARY**

This role is integral to program coordination and administration of projects, including the recruitment of Family Physicians and Nurse Practitioners in Richmond. This role also supports family practices, also referred to as Patient Medical Homes (PMH) with their general practice support needs. The Junior Program Coordinator reports to the Program Lead.

**ORGANIZATIONAL STATUS**

The Richmond Division of Family Practice (RDFP) is a local non-profit society part of a province-wide initiative designed to improve patient care, increase family physician influence on healthcare delivery and design, and enhance physician satisfaction for physicians. The Richmond Division has over 260 physician members, is led by a Board of Directors, and works in collaboration with Vancouver Coastal Health, BC’s Ministry of Health, and community organizations.

Richmond has embarked on a multi-year journey to transform primary care in Richmond through the implementation of Primary Care Networks. The Richmond Primary Care Network (PCN) program is a joint venture led by the Richmond Division of Family Practice and Vancouver Coastal Health-Richmond supported through funding from the BC Ministry of Health. In Richmond our initiative is based on the recruitment of new FPs and NPs to the community, supporting patient medical homes in relation to care integration, provision of an attachment program for people seeking a primary care provider and delivery of team-based care staffed with allied health, nursing, and clinical pharmacy professionals.

**WORK PERFORMED**
- Works closely with the Program Lead to support program goals, program coordination, projects and administration ex/recruitment, orientations, contact lists, member profiles, etc.
- Collaborates with Vancouver Coastal Health-Richmond and other stakeholders to align efforts to support physician recruitment and Patient Care Network.
- Attends PCN meetings and works with other Program Coordinators in the lower mainland, as needed.
- Works closely with the Program Lead to coordinate and prepare minutes, agendas, logistics, and other supports for meetings, committees, working groups, facility visits, and learning events.
- Supports the collection of PCN program data and preparation of reports.
- Supports the creation of recruitment engagement materials in collaboration with the RDFP Communications Coordinator
- Handles sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract family physicians and nurse practitioners to work in our community. This includes utilizing online job boards, attending healthcare conferences, and building relationships with medical schools and residency programs.
- Collaborate with the onboarding team to ensure a smooth transition for newly recruited family physicians and nurse practitioners, helping them integrate into our community and healthcare system.
- Work closely with healthcare providers, clinic managers, and other stakeholders to understand their staffing needs and align recruitment efforts accordingly.
- Other duties as assigned

**WORKING CONDITIONS**

The Program Coordinator position requires availability to work from Monday to Friday during regular working hours (9:00 AM -5:00 PM) with the possibility of attending occasional early morning, early evening and/or weekend meetings. Frequent travel may be necessary across the Richmond/Vancouver area requiring reliable transportation.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- 2-3 years minimum administrative experience
- Previous experience working within the BC Health Care system
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Business Administration, or related topic area, preferred
- Must have advanced knowledge of MS Office (specifically Excel database management)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to details
- Highly developed organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet weekly and monthly deadlines
- Flexibility to adjust to the dynamic work environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to work alone or in a team as needed
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including early morning and evenings as required
- Ability to research various regional healthcare topics, contacts, and organizations for events and project support
- Proactive, helpful, can-do attitude

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
