Junior Machinist

Position Summary:
**Acuren is currently recruiting a Junior Machinist to support Laboratory and Physical Testing operations**.
** **This position will be based out of our office in Richmond, BC.

**Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Lab Manager, the Junior Machinist will safely operate cutting, milling, surfacing and other related machinery under the direction of Machinists for producing specimens and coupons for physical testing, forensic engineering and non-destructive testing. This is a dynamic opportunity for an individual with a machining background and aptitude for problem solving and working with their hands that is interested in working in a world class metallurgical laboratory.

**The postion will be responsible for**
- Follow ISO and company quality standards
- Operate
- machining equipment such as lathes, milling machine, cutting saws, and grinding machines as directed by Physical Testing Supervisor
- Maintain machine shop equipment and safety/maintenance checklists as directed by Physical Testing Supervisor or Laboratory Manager

**Requirements**:

- Machine Shop Experience. High school shop class is acceptable. (previous experience in a metallurgical lab would be a strong asset)
- Strong verbal communication and with ability to follow written directions
- Team player with willingness to learn and develop on the job
